Memento vivere

Literally, remember that you have to live. And that’s what it all boils down to. I’m here the help you live a fuller life, exploring and expanding your range of motion.
We all have the options of staying in one place because it shelters us and keeps us from the unknown – which can feel like not living - or we can throw caution to the wind and take a bungee jump of faith, suspended by tiny bits or rubberized elastomeric polymers and know that we won’t hit the ground. That’s path I’ve chosen. I am stepping of the cliff to break new personal ground and move away from the luxury of security. That’s where you find me at this very moment, suspended in the freeze-frame of exhilaration and bewildered uncertainty. What you don’t see on my face in this moment is fear. Not that I’m not a little concerned but there isn’t any impending sense of doom or desperation that are the hallmarks of fear. I have a cool, calm, collected attitude.
I had been complacent at my job, which I never accepted as a career, for over ten years. Around the birth of my son however my priorities shifted. Suddenly a job with a lot of external expectations and few rewards didn’t feel like enough; it felt a little hollow. So I decided to embrace my passion for fitness and make deeper connections with others and with myself.
Thus I completed a full range of motion from the quiet and comfortable to the unknown and unexplored. And that’s the key to improving your life and maintaining your health, increasing your range of motion and exploring your boundaries. If you don’t go for the full range of motion then you start to quickly limit and confine your expectations and understanding of your capabilities. How can you know what you’re capable of it you never push beyond your perceived limitations?
I challenge you, today, to do something unexpected. If you are traditionally shy perhaps you can extend a kind compliment to a total stranger, approach a co-worker with whom you’ve never spoken and ask if they want to get coffee or lunch, or wear a bold color to get some attention. If you’re often rushed and never leave your desk, take your legally enforced fifteen-minute break to walk (leave the phone charging) and just listen to your breath or sit outside and lust watch people mill around you. Taste something unusual. Remember that you have to live.
Tell me what you did to meet the challenge.
